The base of Exotic is a piece of mahogany I found on the street, with white stenciling on one side  It's a bit bigger than a stack of toast and, like toast, smells wonderful!
The socket houses two bulbs, one for reading and one for ambient light.  A single switch turns them on.  The gooseneck lets you point it where you want.
