E was cast in a bottle found in an 1800's garbage dump on the Brooklyn waterfront.  Over time the casting material expanded, breaking the bottle. What's left is the casting resing, in the shape of the bottle, the electronic guts and the multi-colored, multi-sized LED digits.  And the scrabble tile, an E,  that sets the time.
